Photographs by Louisiana native photographer Clarence John Laughlin (1905-1985) are now on view at Longue Vue House & Gardens. Laughlin photographed extensively in New Orleans and the Gulf while working on his book Ghosts Along the Mississippi, which was first published in 1948. He printed most of the photographs in the basement darkroom at the Longue Vue House, where viewers can now walk through and experience the darkroom, his equipment, and process. The show opens on May 19 and is on view through the fall.
